You asked for it; this is what I think...

01-21-04 Wednesday night TV (Enterprise, West Wing, Smallville and Angel

Redemption night apparently...

Enterprise actually tied back into itself and had a really interesting (for me) episode. I love the Shran character. I do think it sad that drive/computer-memory restoration has degraded so far as it has in the future...

Smallville even had a 'strong' week. Another meteor-freak has come and gone... Lex is still crazy and Clark still has blood on his hands indirectly. Chloe is being pushed, shoved, kicked and all-around abused (she's gonna snap or go away in glorious fashion). Lana is clueless and spineless again. No "Adam Knight" this week, but he'll be back next week (?) and can control Lana's mind??? Perhaps the rumor mills are WAY off on this one (or I misinterpretted the trailer). Pete is still getting some air time. Biggest nerd-point for me? The glasses are IN, baby!!!

The mom-judge being held for ransom story was a bit weird (especially since the judge didn't seem to have any emotion regarding the situation at all)... I think she was in DS9?

I actually liked the fact that 'Banshee-boy' was left as an unexplained, non-cornerstone 'bad-guy.' Having every villian with a tidy background and rep sheet seems a bit forced/television...

There is a big gap in continuity between the Movie Supe's and the comic/cartoon Supe's on this point. In the first Superman movie Pa Kent take a deep dirt-nap, yet in both the comics and the cartoons he is alive and well. I think they have ample reason in this show to off Pa Kent though. After all, Pa 'El told Jonathan there would be a heavy price for his 'empowerment' last season...

I'll be sad as well, but it does make a great catalyst to turn the boy of aluminun-foil into a Man of Steel.

West Wing was a rerun... /grumble

Angel was really good. I was initially baffled as to why no one recognized "Doyle," but then Spike never has dealt with him directly and no one else saw him... I was pleased greatly by this episode (and am REALLY looking forward to Cordellia's return)

/shrug

I love the build up to and the execution of "Sweeps Week"... if only this much attention to detail and quality could be paid during the whole season...
